Mission

The Comparative Literature Department at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, which was established in 2000, precedes the other comparative literature departments in Turkey, and aims at educating people who will study and contribute to the field of comparative literature, which is getting accepted as a discipline by more academics all over the World. The first objective of our department is to make the field of comparative literature get known by more people and to contribute to its development in Turkey, and also, to establish collaboration with other comparative literature departments outside Turkey in order to make this department known internationally. Our department aims at instructing the students in foreign languages, literatures, cultures and art, and teaching the methods of critical thinking. Therefore, our department offers a wide range of courses on a vast variety of subjects in order to well-educate the students who want to study comparative literature.
